The Golden Triangle links Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — three cities roughly 4–5 hours apart by expressway, forming a triangle on the map. It packs Mughal monuments, Rajput forts and two UNESCO-listed wonders into one easy loop.
Day 1 — Delhi
Old Delhi in the morning: Jama Masjid and a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk. New Delhi after lunch: India Gate, Humayun's Tomb and the Qutub Minar.
Day 2 — Delhi to Agra
About 3.5 hours on the Yamuna Expressway. Visit Agra Fort and Itimad-ud-Daulah, then watch the sunset over the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh.
Day 3 — Taj Mahal at sunrise, on to Jaipur
Be at the gate for sunrise (remember: the Taj is closed on Fridays). After breakfast, drive towards Jaipur and stop at Fatehpur Sikri on the way.
Day 4 — Jaipur
Amer Fort in the morning, a photo stop at Jal Mahal, then City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the Hawa Mahal. In the evening, shop in the bazaars or enjoy a Rajasthani dinner at Chokhi Dhani.
Day 5 — Back to Delhi
About 5 hours back to Delhi, in time for an evening flight or train.
Tips
- October to March is the best season; April–June is very hot.
- Book a private car — you set the pace and the driver handles tolls, parking and city traffic.
- Add Haridwar and Rishikesh, or Mathura–Vrindavan, if you have two more days.
